Amadeo Rodríguez Fernández-Alba is Professor in the Area of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Almería (UAL). He is the director and founder (in 1996) of the Research Group AGR 159 “Pesticide Residues” of the Junta de Andalucía and co-head of the Community Reference Laboratory for Pesticide Residues in Fruits and Vegetables. He is the author of more than 120 articles on the analysis of contaminants in food and the environment and editor of three international books on the problems of pesticide residue control, covering the legislative, technical, and quality control aspects of these problems. He is a member of the European Committee for Standardization CEN WG4 and advisor to the Andalusian Health Service of the Andalusian Government for food quality control.
