Ioannis A. Katsoyiannis is an environmental chemist, currently professor at the Departmentof Chemistry at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has earned a reputation among aquatic chemists as a result of his studies on the development of novel technologies for arsenic removal from groundwater, especially the investigation and development of biological arsenic removal. He has served as the President of the Association of Greek Chemists since January 2022. Since 2015, he has been the delegate of the Association of Greek Chemists to the Division of Chemistry and Environment of the European Chemical Society, and since March 2018, he has served as the chairperson of the Division of Chemistry and Environment for the European Chemical Society.
