Nikolaos S. Thomaidis is Professor of Analytical Chemistry and the principal investigator of Trace Analysis and Mass Spectrometry group in the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry of the University of Athens. His research interests include the development of mass spectrometric methods for the determination of emerging contaminants and their (bio)transformation products in environmental and human samples and the investigation of their fate in the aquatic and terrestrial environment, applying generic sample preparation methods and target, suspect and non-target mass spectrometric screening of thousands of chemicals, with the development and application of sophisticated cheminformatics workflows. His group also works on Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography (HILIC), speciation analysis and application of supervised and unsupervised chemometric techniques.
